Harvest in the old days

A large mower from the old days used to cut crops for hay or silage were introduced in the 1860´s. Via a gearbox the motion was transferred from the wheels of the moving knife (not visible in the picture). You needed a pair of strong horses, like Ardennes horses or perhaps North Swedish horses. This was a good tool in the old days and now often forgotten. It will be hard to get this one in use again, damaged by rust and passage of time.

Camera: Mobile phone (samsung).
